Rainier National Park, we ran into this little guy. The Cascade Red Fox is a rare subspecies of Red Fox that lives only in the Cascade Range of Washington. Some have a bright red coat, but they can also be tan, silver, and black in coloring. This was my first time seeing a fox in the wild, so I was very excited! Mt. So, off we went, leaving our house at 11pm the night before, drove 10.5 straight hours, checked in early at the hotel, and drove another couple hours to Abraham Lake for sunset. Completely exhausted, I sat there on the ice and as this sunset unfolded before me, I completely forgot about all we had gone through, all the stress about snow predictions, and just sat, speechless, in this moment of utter beauty. Peeking out my tent that morning, I saw the beginning of what could potentially be one of the best sunrises I had ever witnessed. With my boots completely frozen, I eventually managed to shove them on my feet and get the camera and tripod ready to go. Unfortunately, low clouds eventually moved in and we didn't get the ultimate sunrise we had hoped for, but the sunrise that did occur was gorgeous, especially with the pink and purple reflections off of Perfection Lake. This fern had the most glorious texture and color I had ever seen, and I've seen a lot of ferns in my life in the PNW. People kept passing by me wondering what I was doing photographing the rock and not the obvious canyon landscape. I told them to look a bit closer. They couldn't believe the color. It was fun showing others that looking for the not so obvious are the best things in life. It was me and just one other person at this beautiful lake, which is a rare occurrence. Mt.
